I have spent the last year in a quest to document the Universal Laws and principles through scripture. I have had some very enlightening moments, but none so great as this one.
This will make much more sense or be received on a deeper level for those who understand the Stickman Concept that I first learned from Leslie Householder.
In the Stickman, we teach that the subconscious mind is also referred to as our heart or the feeling place. What is programmed in the subconscious mind, good or bad, is what moves us to action. With that in mind, as I read the scriptures and read the word “heart,” I always look at the context as it something moving me to action. This became prevalent while reading through Proverbs and Ecclesiastes. Let me give you some examples with my commentary from my notes:
Proverbs 4:23–“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Where we keep our heart or those things in our subconscious filled with correct thought, we resolve the issues of life. Many of our childhood experiences (issues of life) can be kept in line if our heart or subconscious are programmed correctly.
Proverbs 7:1-3 “Keep my words…..keep my commandments….write them upon the tables of thine heart.” Again, understanding our heart to be our subconscious mind that moves us into action, if we take the Lord’s words and commandments and “write them on the tables of our heart,” we are literally writing down goals and when things are firmly cemented or “written” in our hearts/subconscious, then we are moved to action– to follow Christ.
Proverbs 15:13- “A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance.” If there is joy in your heart/subconscious, your results/actions will be a cheerful life.
Okay, so now you are getting the idea…..
This is the real aha. I was reading in Proverbs 23:12 – “apply thine heart to instruction and thine ears to the words of knowledge.” My thoughts began taking off…..applying my heart to instruction means that I am placing the Lord’s instruction (commandments, scriptures) into my heart or subconscious. My ears to the words of knowledge…..okay, hearing and listening to the words of the Lord. So if my heart is my subconscious mind, what are the ears? I came to me very plainly– the Conscious mind. For those of you who understand the stickman, the conscious mind is the LISTENING part– it is the one that FILTERS what is heart. I started getting excited, but then I quickly thought, “well, the Lord always talks about eyes and ears. So what are the eyes?” All of a sudden it became very clear– the EYES are the DREAM, the goal, the focus, the thought cloud. We have to SEE a goal, a dream or a vision, then we have to HEAR or LISTEN for the prompting, the truth to come. Then we have to move the idea/dream/goal into our HEART so we are moved to action and to the vibration to receive.
This seemed so huge to me that morning. I honestly thought I had found the Holy Grail of Universal Law/Scripture finds. Just think of all the scriptures that talk about hearing and seeing or heart and visualize the stickman figures or concepts. It will change your scripture reading and will change so much. All of a sudden, I have begun to understand on a whole new level some of what the Lord is trying to teach me.
Now read this verse and see what a difference this new “knowledge” makes:
Isaiah 32:3-4 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken. The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge…
Think about all those times the Lord said that the people had eyes but did not see and ears but did not hear or hearken. Those people had no dream or goal or focus and when they heard something he taught, they rejected it– filtered it, and did not allow it to enter their hearts.
I have a lot of more scriptures documented, these are just a sampling.
I sure hope this helps you out and opens up the scriptures in a whole new way for you.
By the way, I finished all the cannons of scripture a few days ago, and am now starting over so I can document even this one concept. You should see all the stickman figures in the margins of my scriptures. ;o) I recommend it!
Please share your thoughts!
I love it, Denise! I will have to come back to this next week while my kids are in school when I can concentrate on it better! Thanks for sharing this!
Denise,
Thank you for this! This is a very interesting concept to ponder…it makes total sense to me. I would love to see you present the stickman concept and would also love to pick your brain a little! Let me know if you are coming up this way! 🙂
Lynette,
I would love to come up there! I need to figure out just how to do that! It would be so fun, but I’m thinking summer would be better (warmer). ;o)
I’m trying to figure out how to do it online and as a class like Alisa has done. I guess I need to pow-wow with her.
So I thought about this last night… I only have a few minutes to comment, and then I need to go pack for our trip! 😉 On the call on Tuesday night you will hear my big epiphany with Stickman — about how we need to be spiritually, mentally, physically & emotionally in tune with our goal. Here are a few scriptures on that:
Detueronomy 6:5 — And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
D&C 59:5 – Wherefore, I give unto them a commandment, saying thus: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart (emotional), with all thy might, mind and strength; and in the name of Jesus Christ thou shalt serve him.
If you combine them, then it talks about loving God with all your heart (emotional), might/strength (physical), mind (mental) & soul (spiritual). I’m wondering how this all ties in with your epiphany. I feel like it does, but I’m not making the connection — since you’ve been studying this longer than I have, I thought you might be able to make the connection better than me!
I can’t wait to read your book on tying this all together! So many people don’t understand how this all ties into the scriptures — and when you start making the connections, it’s SO exciting!!!
Call me and let’s visit! I saw that connection you had made when I watched your presentation online. This is fun, huh?!
Hey Denise, I decided that i really would enjoy, and desperately need to have some scripture study time with you. Like a class. While opening my ears, and heart, and eyes to Christ, I feel like the one thing that keeps coming, is studying the scriptures. to find my answers. But i never seem to be doing so. I don’t understand, or don’t give myself time. or whatever the reason. So, if you would like to give me lessons, ( haha ) or whatever you wish to call them, please let me know. Cause i mean this seriously. (: Thank you for all you do! (:
Kiri,
Come on over! I love scripture study time!!
Simply Awesome!
